Two of the most spectacular sites in Transylvania: the unspoiled medieval city of Sighisoara and the picturesque village of Viscri are waiting for us!
The Clock Tower, the former Benedictine monastery, the Lutheran Church from the upper part of the city, the narrow streets, but also the supposed birthplace of Count Dracula, give Sighisoara its enchanting medieval atmosphere.
Crit is up next, for a delicious lunch, with mouthwatering specialties.
After that comes the famous village of Viscri, known for the involvement of charitable foundations like the “Mihai Eminescu Trust” that is under the patronage of HRH Prince Charles. The highlight of the village is the fortified church, dating back to the 12th century. The village itself is under UNESCO patronage too. Almost all of the houses were built in the 15th and 16th century, so bible quotations, proverbs and family coats of arms can be seen on the facades. Restorations were carried out with local labor.
Every time we organised a trip to Sighisoara, it got busy pretty quickly, so make sure you book your seat in time!
