The Carpathian Mountains have always been a source of myths and legends and so is its wildlife. Romania still has Europe’s last virgin forests (UNESCO sites) and some of the largest wildlife populations worldwide. This is our very first experience in this type of nature, all the other trips being focused on culture, gastronomy and local communities.
Together with the WWF (World Wide Found), we invite you in the Virgin Forest of Strambu-Baiut, where a local ranger will take us on a 3-4 hour hike through the woods and explain the problems they are facing. After a delicious picnic next to a natural mineral water spring, we will drive deeper into the forest and reach a wildlife observation point, where (with a little luck) we will see the inhabitants of these forests.
